Incentives. I brought incentives up in my last blogging blog post and I noticed that quite a few people had questions about incentives and why you needed them. Incentives are something many bloggers are at odds about. Some feel like incentives are just one step onto the fast track of monetizing and selling your soul out to big brother. However, bloggers who have been in the game awhile and are actually financially successful at blogging, all have the same thing to tell. Incentives are NECESSARY. Especially if you’re new to the blogging world or feel like you have hit a wall when it comes to your unique visitor numbers. Incentives are the corner-stone to getting individuals through the virtual door and onto your blog. Seeing your ebook, printable or what have you on Pinterest, searched for on Google or found while surfing Facebook brings in the unique visitor numbers you need to create your own products. Incentives bring in people who might not normally stop by and check things out. They’re the free cookie piece in the store, that extra bit of something that makes you spend a tad bit more before making your finale purchase. Incentives work. It’s why SO many businesses use them.
Once you finally decide that incentives are the way to go for making your blog a booming success then the truly hard part comes into play. Taking the time to sit down, look at your top three most popular blog posts of all time and deciding what type of incentive works best for you and your blog space is hard work. If you can’t decide on just one, then create a six month plan and create all three different types of incentives. It won’t hurt your blog and it surely won’t hurt your numbers.
Printable’s are one of the simplest forms of incentives you can create for your blog space. I’ve used Pic Monkey to create all of the printable’s on The Ham & Cheese Of It. If you’re unfamiliar with Pic Monkey, it’s a FREE service for editing and designing photos. All of my square title images? You guessed it! All done using Pic Monkey. You can even sign up for their early service of $35 and get additional free fonts, illustrations and other design features. And no, I am not affiliated with them. I just love them! Designing, creating and masterminding incentives can be overwhelming especially if you aren’t sure how to create a printable. No problem! Here is a FREE tutorial on how to create printable’s using Pic Monkey. This is the tutorial I used to create our most popular printable on the blog. Our Kitchen Conversion Chalkboard printable series has generated over 3K pins on Pinterest, bringing in over 60+ new unique visitors to my blog everyday.

2. E-Mail Series
I LOVE a good e-mail series. They’re a fun and exciting way to keep readers coming back for more and more. I currently use Mail Chimp’s automated services (again not affiliated, just love them). Email series are simple to create and you can do pretty much whatever your heart desires with them. Just make sure that when you’re fleshing out your automated series that you make sure to add images, links and anything else you can think of to redirect readers back to your own content. You will also want to make sure that your very last e-mail of your automation asks readers to join your regular daily/weekly blog newsletter. This way they can get up-to-date information and even more amazing content like the one the just read. Thus bringing in a decent amount of readers each day/week to your blog without even having to think about it once it’s finished. It’s $10 a month to host your automation through Mail Chimp. You can read this FREE tutorial on how to create an email opt-in with Mail Chimp.

Who here doesn’t love a great Ebook? I mean they’re so useful, combining all of the greatest content the blogger has into one easy to read format. Ebooks, depending on their content, can be a real win for a blogger. Not only can an Ebook generate dedicated readers, subscribers to all your social media profiles, but they can also generate a stable income for your blog space. If that is, of course, something that you’re wanting to do. Being the most time-consuming of all three of the aforementioned incentives, Ebooks can really be that one thing that takes your hobby blog to a serious, professional force to be reckoned with. As I have mentioned, like a broken record I am sure, Abby has a great FREE tutorial on how to create your own Ebook Launch. One that I followed to create my Ebook!
